1. Who we are

Dialed is published by Dialed Labs LLC, a Texas limited liability company ("Dialed", "we", "us"), of 2300 Nueces St Apt NU-102B, Austin, TX 78705.

2. What Dialed is

Dialed is a filtering client for Instagram's mobile website.

Dialed shows you Instagram's own web pages inside the app. Before a post or reel reaches your screen, Dialed reads the caption Instagram has already rendered, classifies it on your device against the topics you chose, and hides the ones you did not ask for.

  • The classification runs on your device, using Apple's on-device model. Captions are not sent to us or to anyone else.
  • Hiding is local and cosmetic. Dialed covers a post in your copy of the page. Nothing changes for anyone else, and nothing changes on Instagram.
  • You are on Instagram. Everything you do in the app — scrolling, liking, commenting, following, messaging — happens on Instagram's own page and is seen by Instagram.

3. What Dialed is not

  • Dialed is not Instagram, and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Instagram or Meta Platforms, Inc. Instagram and Meta are their trademarks, not ours.
  • Dialed does not host, store, upload or transmit any post, reel, story, message, image, video or caption. We operate no servers that hold content. There is no Dialed feed and no Dialed copy of anything you see.
  • Dialed is not a moderation service for Instagram. We cannot remove, edit, demote or report content on Instagram's behalf. We have no account privileges, no platform access and no standing with Instagram. What Dialed can do is stop showing something to you.
  • Dialed is not a filter you should rely on for safety. It is software, it works against a website that changes without notice, and it will sometimes let through something you did not want to see. See section 10.

4. Your Instagram account

You bring your own Instagram account. Dialed does not create one, sell one, or give you access to one.

  • You sign in on Instagram's own login page, inside the app. We never see, store or transmit your Instagram password. The app checks only that a valid Instagram session exists; it does not read the session value.
  • Your use of Instagram remains governed by Instagram's own Terms of Use and policies. Nothing in these terms changes your agreement with Instagram, and nothing here is permission from Instagram to do anything.
  • Instagram may restrict or terminate your account for using third-party software with it. We believe Dialed's design minimises that risk — by default it only reads what is already on your screen and hides it for you, and it takes no action on your account — but we cannot promise Instagram will agree. You use Dialed with your Instagram account at your own risk, and we are not responsible for action Instagram takes against your account. If you are not willing to accept that risk, do not use Dialed.
  • If Instagram changes its website, parts of Dialed may stop working until we ship an update, or permanently. See section 9.

5. Who may use Dialed

You must be at least 16 years old to use Dialed, and old enough to form a binding contract where you live. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms on your behalf.

Dialed is a client for Instagram. If you are not permitted to use Instagram, you are not permitted to use Dialed.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use Dialed to harass, stalk, threaten, defame or impersonate anyone.
  • Use Dialed to collect, scrape, store, republish or sell Instagram content or other people's personal data. Dialed is built not to do this, and you may not make it do this.
  • Use Dialed to automate activity on Instagram — bulk following, liking, messaging, posting, account creation, or anything else that acts on an account at machine speed.
  • Use Dialed to access an account that is not yours, or to evade a block, restriction, suspension or ban imposed by Instagram or by another user.
  • Use Dialed to seek out, collect or redistribute child sexual abuse material, non-consensual intimate imagery, or content that sexualises a minor. This is absolutely prohibited, and we will cooperate with law enforcement.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, modify or tamper with the app, except where that right cannot be excluded by law.
  • Turn Dialed's filtering off in order to show restricted content to someone else — for example, handing a device to a child with the filter disabled.
  • Resell, sublicense, rent or share your Dialed subscription.

7. Subscription and billing

Some features of Dialed require a paid subscription (currently a monthly plan and an annual plan).

  • Purchases are sold and processed by Apple through In-App Purchase and billed to your Apple Account. We never see your card details.
  • The current price and billing period are shown in the app before you buy, and on the App Store.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically. Your Apple Account is charged within 24 hours before the end of each period, at the then-current price, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends.
  • Cancel at any time in Settings → your Apple Account → Subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
  • Free trial. If a free trial is offered, we tell you its length and the date of the first charge before you start it. Cancel before that date and you are not charged. If you buy a subscription during a free trial, the unused part of the trial is forfeited.
  • Restoring a purchase. "Restore purchase" in the app re-checks your Apple Account and restores an active subscription on a new device.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple, under Apple's terms, not by us. We cannot issue, reverse or guarantee a refund for an App Store purchase. You can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. If you are a consumer in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you may have a statutory right to cancel a distance contract within 14 days. Apple is the seller of the subscription, so that right is exercised through Apple and Apple's own terms govern how it applies — including the rule that the right can end once supply of digital content begins with your consent. Nothing in these terms removes a statutory right you have.
  • Price changes. If we change the price of an existing subscription, Apple notifies you and asks for your consent where Apple's rules require it. You can cancel instead of accepting.
  • What a subscription buys is access to Dialed's filtering features for its term. It does not buy access to Instagram, to any content, or to any particular Instagram behaviour.

8. Your data

  • Dialed has no backend for your content. The app sends no post, caption, image, video, message, Instagram handle or browsing activity to us or to any third party. Captions are classified on your device and are not written to disk.
  • Your settings stay on your device. The topics you choose, the accounts you never want to see, and your daily activity counts are stored on the phone itself.
  • Instagram sees your use of Instagram. When you use Dialed you are loading Instagram's own pages, and Instagram receives whatever it would receive if you used its website in a browser. That is governed by Instagram's privacy policy, not ours.
  • The subscription layer is the one exception to "nothing leaves the device." A purchase is a transaction with Apple, and we use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions: it receives your purchase state and an anonymous identifier it generates, and nothing about what you read or filter. 9. Changes to Instagram, and to Dialed

Instagram changes its website whenever it likes, without telling us. When it does:

  • Parts of Dialed may break, show fewer posts than expected, filter less accurately, or stop working entirely until we ship an update.
  • We may change, add or remove features of Dialed at any time, including features you are paying for, where that is necessary to keep the app working, lawful, or in line with Instagram's or Apple's requirements.
  • We may discontinue Dialed. If we discontinue it while you have a paid subscription, you may cancel through Apple and request a refund from Apple for any unused period.

Filtering accuracy is not guaranteed and will vary. Two limits are worth stating plainly rather than leaving you to discover them:

  • Topic filtering needs Apple Intelligence, and does not run on a device that cannot provide it. On such a device Dialed tells you so during setup and offers what does work without it: removing whole sections of Instagram, and your never-show account list.
  • Filtering needs an active subscription. Without one, Dialed does not filter what your feed contains. Removing whole sections keeps working either way.

10. Disclaimers

Dialed is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranty that Dialed will be uninterrupted, error-free, accurate, or that it will hide any particular post or category of content.

In particular:

  • We do not warrant that Dialed will hide everything you do not want to see. A filter that reads a caption will miss content whose caption says nothing about it. You may see posts you asked not to see, including posts that are disturbing or offensive.
  • We do not control, review, endorse or take responsibility for anything on Instagram. All content you see through Dialed comes from Instagram and from the people who posted it.
  • Dialed is not a child-safety product, a parental control, a content-moderation service, or a substitute for any of them.
  • We do not warrant that Instagram will permit your use of Dialed, or that your Instagram account will not be restricted. See section 4.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, goodwill or the use of an Instagram account, however caused.

Our total liability to you for all claims relating to Dialed is limited to the greater of (a) the total amount you paid us for Dialed in the twelve months before the claim, or (b) US$100.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for statutory consumer rights that cannot be waived.

12. Termination

  • You may stop at any time. Delete the app, and cancel any subscription through Apple.
  • We may suspend or terminate your access to Dialed, with or without notice, if you break these terms or our Community Standards, if we are required to by law or by Apple or by Instagram, or if we discontinue the app.
  • On termination, sections 3, 8, 10, 11 and 14 survive.
  • Because your settings live on your device and we hold nothing, terminating your access does not require us to delete anything.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change materially reduces your rights, we will give notice in the app or at the published URL above before it takes effect. Continuing to use Dialed after a change means you accept the updated terms. The date at the top always shows the current version.

14. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms or to Dialed must be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Travis County, Texas, and you and we each consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts. If you are a consumer in the European Union or the United Kingdom, nothing in this section removes your right to bring proceedings in your country of residence or to rely on the mandatory consumer protections of your local law.

If any provision of these terms is unenforceable, the rest stays in force.

support@usedialed.app — for support, for these terms, and to report anything covered by our Community Standards. We acknowledge within 2 business days and aim to resolve within 10 business days.

Appendix — Apple's standard EULA

Apple's standard End User License Agreement also applies to your licence to use the Dialed app itself, and is linked from the app's subscription screen (https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/). It is a different document from these terms: Apple's EULA licenses the software, while these terms cover the service, the subscription and the conduct rules App Store guideline 1.2 requires. Where Apple's standard EULA and these terms conflict on the licence to the app, Apple's EULA controls.
